Driving up and out of Phoenix each summer, we passed
All Bike Sales, which always caught my eye along the Beeline Hway to Payson at Rye,
AZ. The
weather was always too something, giving us an excuse to not stop! Then
one fateful day in 1998 while driving home, I HAD TO STOP, even though
it had been raining earlier. With my AE1 film camera, I was in awe of how
many pieces and parts were piled here and in line over there. From the
highway at 60 mph, it was a blur of potential. But from down here on the
ground, this became a paradise of peddled possibilities. The Sun came
out! I wandered the field, and came away happy as a newspaper boy with a
new bike. Unfortunately, in April, 2016, a fire came through and took it
all away. People smile at the images in my gallery. Especially this
seat! My 1957 Paperboy bike is planted at my retread cabin and is rusting
beautifully. I am smiling again. Thank you Ron! |
